TEACHER BIO Lori Trejo "It takes an athlete to dance, but an artist to be a dancer." ~Anonymous
Lori Trejo is a student of jazz, tap, clog, lyrical, hip-hop, Irish step, cabaret and tribal belly dance. Lori studied with Sarah Shaw from age 3 - 21 and taught there for 15 years. She later took classes and taught belly dance, tap and jazz for Connie’s School of Dance. Lori also earned her AAS Degree in Early Childhood Education in the spring of 1994, which has helped her to develop a special bond with the children she works with and makes class fun for everyone. Lori is a member of both the Hell or High-water Theatrical Association and the Impossible Players, performing in multiple shows. She has also choreographed for the Impossible Players, Southern Colorado Theatre Company, Damon Runyon Repertory and the 4-H Spotlight Drama Club. Lori Trejo also attends workshops in order to perfect her skills and increase her knowledge in the dance arts. This is the best way she can keep her students informed on current changes and teachings in dance. Lori's Studio of Dance and Performing Arts (LSPDA) started in the summer of 2005. The studio was titled this because it encourages all forms of dance and includes several theatrical elements in its performances. LSPDA is opened for ages 2 to adult and features creative movement, ballet, Irish step, lyrical, hip hop, contemporary, jazz, tap, clog and both cabaret and tribal belly dance styles. Every year LSPDA has one full-scale performance and several other smaller performances throughout the year.
