Mission Statement Lori's Studio of Dance and Performing Arts wants to educate, nurture, enlighten and inspire students of all ages, genders, gender preferences, creeds and ethnic backgrounds. To provide a safe place to learn dance. To have fun while learning healthy ways to get in and stay in shape. To develop stage presence, confidence, and self-esteem in each student. Benefits of Dance Dancing provides a creative outlet, emotionally and physically for students. Classes will develop strength and endurance for students, as well as flexibility. All classes will give students poise, build confidence, self-discipline as well as enjoyment. Dance classes also offer a chance for students to make new friends and learn social skills. Faculty Under the direction of Lori Trejo, the instructors at Lori's Studio of Dance and Performing Arts have extensive training and experience in teaching. They are sensitive to the needs of individuals and are able to communicate with them on their levels.

Music is in our hearts from the beginning." ~Pamela Brown Jazz/Hip-Hop Jazz and Hip-hop are fundamentally popular dancing that has been stylized and polished to theatrical brilliance. The class begins with a warm up. Dance combinations are practiced across the floor or center as a short routine. In addition to learning a good sense of rhythm, our jazz and Hip-Hop classes stress correct body placement and correct application of technique. Tap In tap, the emphasis is on foot work and the expression of rhythm through sound. Class begins with a warm-up. Short combinations of steps are practiced across the floor. Finally, longer dance sequences are performed center floor. Lyrical Lyrical is a style of dance that meshes jazz and ballet together to form a beautiful and graceful dance that tells a story with movement. Classical Ballet Classical ballet is the basis for all dance forms. This style teaches grace and poise along with balance and structure. Ballet combinations are practiced at the bar and in the center of the floor. In addition to learning balance, our ballet classes stress correct body placement and correct application of technique. Irish Step Irish step classes stress correct body placement and correct application of technique.

Belly Dance Belly Dance has become very popular in the last few years. It increases confidence in the dancer. Class begins with a warm-up. Steps and movement is taught and put into combinations. The class stresses correct body placement. Finally, longer dance sequences are performed.

***Note: Thanksgiving, winter, spring and summer breaks are not included in the 15 week curriculum. Attendance Regular class attendance and participation is required of all students. The progress of a student and the entire class is a reflection of proper attendance. Students are expected to arrive for class on time and in proper dance attire (see attire). Practice Students who attend classes regularly and take the time to practice at home are more likely to succeed and move further in classes faster. Practice at home is suggested. Make-Up Classes Classes will be made up if the teacher has had to cancel the class. There is also a scheduled day each month for any make-up class or extra help that a student may need. Creative Movement and Combo Classes
Jeans are not permitted in Dance Class. To feel like a Dancer you must dress like one. If you wear jeans to class you will not be allowed to dance. You will be asked to sit and observe. Hair Please have your hair out of your face as to not distract from your learning. Bangs are allowed as long as they are not longer than the eyebrows. Jewelry is not permitted in dance class. Student Accounts Parents or guardians will be responsible for all delinquent student accounts. A collection agency (member of the International Credit Association), has been secured to handle all delinquent accounts. Parents or guardians will be liable for all legal and collection fees.
