COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What happens to my portion if I cannot pick it up on distribution day?
Each member is responsible to arrange pickup of their produce on the designated day.  A neighbor, family, and friends are eligible to pick up for you.  We are not able to "save your share or double up your share" the following week if you miss distribution.  We will donate this unused portion to other CSA members and/or a soup kitchen.

What if there is a crop failure or lower than expected production goals?
Unlike mainstream agriculture, where the farmer bears all the risks for crop failure or low prices, a CSA partnership allows members to share the burden and the blessings with the grower.    Some crops may yield less than others due to severe weather and insects.  Other times, the crop may produce a bumper crop. In our experience,  there is usually a balance between shortage and surplus.

Why is a $50.00 deposit required by March 17th?
This money goes to a major cost on a farm, purchasing seed, supplies and water.    We are growing and tending crops months before you see them, this gives us a good idea on what and how many transplants to start ahead of time.  If you hear of us after March 17th, please contact us to see if we have any shares remaining.

Can I sign up for a Work Share if I live in the Colorado Springs area?
Yes.  We can arrange for you to "work at the farm" or in Colorado Springs helping with distribution.  The number of work shares are limited.
Can I split a "share" with another person/family?
Yes, if you split a "share" with another person/family we will put the "share amount" in a box and it will be up to the shareholders' to split the produce.  We highly recommend that if you split a share , that the shareholders' alternate weeks in receiving their produce.

Will there be a Fruit Share available this season?
No, but we will sell fruit in bulk when it is available.
